Born and raised in New Jersey, only a few miles from midtown Manhattan, Jon D’Amore was consumed by entertainment, education and culture in an era few will ever experience again.
Starting guitar lessons at an early age, Jon performed on the road and as a studio musician. During that time, he wrote a music column for a North Jersey newspaper, dabbled in songwriting and as a novelist.
By the mid-1980s he entered the corporate world using his performing experience and writing skills to achieve levels his superiors said he could never attain…but did. Fifteen years later, Jon realized he didn’t want to grow up to be like the people he worked for…so he moved to Los Angeles to complete his memoir, THE BOSS ALWAYS SITS IN THE BACK. Learning to write and edit screenplays, Jon stayed in the land of sun, surf, valet parking and insane gas prices.
Releasing THE BOSS in 2012, for the following six years Jon crisscrossed the country while having a great time giving readings. Jon read sections from his books, told personal stories and answered the audience’s questions at bookstores, libraries, private events, book clubs, two historic cemeteries and anywhere a crowd could comfortably gather to watch and listen.
During stops along his tours and from the comfort of his home, Jon has appeared on TV and radio shows across the country and around the world.
Wanting to give THE BOSS fans a follow-up of the same genre, in 2017 Jon released DEADFELLAS, based on the screenplay he co-wrote with Steve Barr. The story combined everyone’s fascination with the Mafia…and the popular world of zombies.
Jon has now released his third book, THE DELIVERY MAN. No mobsters. No zombies. Just a lot of vigilante revenge…and saving America from Russian and North Korean nerve gas attacks. Sure, that may sound timely now, but the storyline (including those enemies) was written in 2006. Go figure.
Enjoy!
